Books, commercials, posters, apps, websites and other works in the field of communication design – more than 300 analogue and digital exhibits will be on display at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen from 21 February 2025. All the works presented in the exhibition have been honoured in the international design competition ‘Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2024’. One highlight of the exhibition is the presentation of the Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2024 in the museum's White Hall. PepsiCo Design and Innovation provides insights into its brand world. The agency is known for its extraordinary projects and designs for brands such as Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, and Pepsi.
Opening on Thursday, 20 February 2025
The vernissage will take place on 20 February from 7 p.m. (admission from 6.30 p.m.) at the museum on the grounds of the Zollverein World Heritage Site. Thomas Kufen, Lord Mayor of the City of Essen, will first welcome the guests before Vito Oražem, director of the Red Dot Design Museum, presents some of the works in the form of entertaining video clips. Interested parties can register for the event here. Attendance is free of charge.
Excellent design made in NRW
North Rhine-Westphalia, with cities such as Düsseldorf and Cologne, but also the Ruhr area, is and remains an important location in the German creative landscape: the winners from North Rhine-Westphalia include agencies such as Elastique. from Cologne, D'art Design Gruppe from Neuss, BOK + Gärtner from Münster and many more, as well as large companies – including AXA, Busch-Jäger Elektro, Deutsche Lufthansa, Grohe and Vorwerk. A total of almost 60 works from North Rhine-Westphalia are on display in the exhibition.
