Special exhibition 26 April 2022 – 22 May 2022

"Less is more!" once propagated the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) and thus established a design principle that has lost none of its validity to this day. On the one hand, "less is more" aims at a design that is as reduced as possible, dispensing with anything superfluous. On the other hand, in times of technological progress and change, it is also a question of juxtaposing technical complexity with a design that is as reduced as possible, with the aim of achieving simple operation and a high level of user-friendliness in this way.

The studio exhibition "Less is more. - Aspects of minimal design" uses award-winning products from the 2021 competition year to illustrate how this can be achieved in individual cases by focusing on the often hidden qualities of the products.
