Design on Stage 2021–2022
Special exhibition 22 June 2021 – 31 May 2022
The approximately 1,500 exhibits, all of which received the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021, come from the most diverse areas of life. Spread over five floors, the exhibition offers visitors a comprehensive overview of current trends and developments in product design.
The exhibition starts in the foundation hall with a short introduction to the two important design principles "form follows function" and "form follows emotion". In addition, new fields of design in the age of digitalisation and big data will be presented, such as smart products and interfaces. There will also be a special presentation of Apple products, the only one of its kind in a museum worldwide.
The best designs that received the highest award in the competition – the Red Dot: Best of the Best – will be shown in a separate exhibition. The title: "Milestones in Contemporary Design 2021–2022".
