Fans of aesthetic designs and all those who want to become it are invited to participate in a public tour of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany on Sunday, 13 April 2014, from 3 – 4.30 p.m. They can discover the world of design, current trends and contemporary product culture.

During the one hour and a half long tour of the former energy center of Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, visitors experience modern industrial design from around the world in an inspiring atmosphere. A special highlight is the “Kesselhaus Suite”: Starting at 3.45 p.m., the composition by Dirk Reith raises in the impressive “Schürerhalle” of the house, which is also called “cathedral of industrial culture”.

The roughly 2,000 exhibits from 45 countries illustrate how classy and simple one can organise everyday life with outstanding design – from the elaborately designed watch to innovative computers to elegantly shaped taps. Touching and testing is allowed and required in the hands-on-exhibition, since good design becomes especially apparent in daily use.

As the group size allows for a maximum of 25 participants, the Red Dot Design Museum kindly asks for previous registration by phone on +49 201 30104-0 or via e-mail to museum(at)red-dot.de.
