On Sunday, 11 May 2014 design fans and all those, who want to become it, go on a journey of discovery in the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary product design. From 3–4:30 p.m., the public tour of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen informs about latest industrial design, product culture and the fascinating architecture of the house.

The one hour and a half tour of the former boiler house of Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex allows for interesting insights into the world of well-shaped and sophisticated designs. Thereby, visitors learn about latest trends in the various fields of international product design, about cultural and country-specific characteristics and how design has changed over the years.

Besides the tour of the permanent exhibition, the “Design Experience Laboratory” invites visitors to touch around and surprise themselves with the design of everyday items. In the special exhibition, they can experience materials and forms in a completely different perspective and get a multi-dimensional understanding of the basics of design. The exhibition sharpens the power of judgment and helps them to realise what good design is all about.

As the group size allows for a maximum of 25 participants, the Red Dot Design Museum kindly asks for previous registration by phone on +49 201 30104-0 or via e-mail to museum(at)red-dot.de.
