Professor Danny Venlet’s design projects range from private mansions, lofts, bars and restaurants all the way to showrooms and offices of large companies. Since 2013, one of his creations decorates the Schürerstand (stoker’s stand) of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. The installation of the cylindrical pendant lights in the Red Dot colours white and red are a real eyecatcher, since the design of the distinctive light source is reminiscent of an airplane engine or an oversized ventilator. Being linearly integrated in the old industrial setting, the lights by Belgian manufacturer Dark seem to float. Their contemporary, international style derives from a discreet yet striking design which is special for the designer’s interior decoration and furniture.
