The exhibition “Formosa Forms – Contemporary Tradition in Taiwanese Design” gives an overview of design trends from Taiwan. It is presented by the Red Dot Design Museum in Hall 6 at Zollverein World Heritage Site in Essen, Germany. The exhibition showcases a selection of products which received the Red Dot or Golden Pin Design Award.
The exhibits from various living environments highlight both the contrast and symbiosis of tradition and modernity and illustrate the design understanding of Taiwanese designers and manufacturers: In numerous products, timely interpretations of traditional elements as well as innovative techniques combined with established craftsmanship testify to the contemporary Taiwanese culture.
The Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (official organiser) commissioned the Taiwan Design Center (executive organiser) to plan the exhibition “Formosa Forms”, which is organised by the Red Dot Design Museum Essen.
