Design objects under the hammer: Charity Auction 2017

Professional event
03 December 2017
14:00 - 17:00 h

Purchasing well-shaped objects by auction and doing good – that is what visitors of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany will be invited to do on Sunday, 3 December 2017. Already for the seventh time, the museum is organising the popular charity auction which literally promises design objects at hammer prices. Numerous well-designed pieces will be auctioned off at a starting price of 1 euro. Like every year, the total proceeds will be donated for a good cause, in 2017 to the organisation Friedensdorf International Oberhausen (Peace Village International).

As a personal design highlight or as an uncommon Christmas presents for one’s nearest and dearest: The selection of high-class design products includes among others furniture, tableware, consumer electronics, lamps, household appliances or lifestyle accessories which will go under the hammer during the charity event.

With about 2,000 exhibits, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen presents the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design – and always stays up to date: After one year, most of the exhibits are sent back to their manufacturers in order to clear space for the arrival of the new Red Dot award-winning products. But on the first Sunday in Advent, numerous top products go under the hammer for a good cause.

The event is held in German language. The participation is free. Previous registration is obligatory. In order to register or if you have any further questions, please contact the team of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen via e-mail to museum(at)
