Purchasing well-shaped objects by auction and doing good – that is what visitors of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany will be invited to do on Sunday, 4 December 2016. Already for the sixth time, the museum is organizing the popular charity auction which literally promises design objects at hammer prices. Numerous well-designed pieces will be auctioned off at a starting price of 1 euro. Like every year, the total proceeds will be donated for a good cause: In 2016 to the Friedensdorf International Oberhausen (Peace Village International).
As a personal design highlight or as a uncommon Christmas presents for one’s nearest and dearest: The selection of high-class design products includes among others furniture, tableware, consumer electronics, lamps, housholp appliances or lifestyle accessories which will go under the hammer during the charity event.
With about 2,000 exhibits, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen presents the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design – and always stays up to date: After one year, most of the exhibits are sent back to their manufacturers in order to clear space for the arrival of the new Red Dot award-winning products. But on the second Sunday in Advent, numerous top products go under the hammer for a good cause.
The participation is free.
Due to the huge interest, the charity auction on Sunday, 4 December 2016 is already booked out. We kindly ask for your understanding that registration is no longer possible.
