On Sunday, 4 June 2017 design fans and all those, who want to become it, go on a journey of discovery in the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary product design. On the occasion of the World Heritage Day 2016 at Zollverein coal mine, the public tours of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen informs about latest industrial design, product culture and the fascinating architecture of the house from 1–2 p.m. and from 3–4 p.m.
The tours of the former boiler house of Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex allow for interesting insights into the world of well-shaped and sophisticated designs. Besides the permanent exhibition, the special exhibitions “World’s Best Communication Design and Highlights from NRW” and “PLEXIGLAS® – From the inspiring material to innovative design” grant inspiring insights into the fascinating world of design.
