Dialogue – Red Dot awarded Communication Design

3 July – 15 October 2017

The exhibition “Dialogue – Red Dot awarded Communication Design” showcases the latest trends, strategies and projects of the Taiwanese and international communication design scene. The spectrum of more than 150 exhibits ranges from illustrations and posters to packaging, advertising campaigns and online presences. What all works have in common is their excellent design for which they received a prize in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016. For 25 years now, the competition has offered agencies, designers and companies from all over the world a platform for evaluating their design and creative achievements.

The selection is comprised of all international projects which received the Red Dot: Best of the Best and the highest single distinction, the Red Dot: Grand Prix. In addition, award-winning designs from Taiwan are on show in order to illustrate where the insular state is positioned in the world of communication design.

Furthermore, the best work by an up-and-coming talent which was granted the Red Dot: Junior Prize, endowed with 10,000 Euros, will fascinate visitors to the exhibition. In 2016, this distinction went to Mu-Yi Chi and Yi-Sin Lin from the Tatung University in Taipei. Their animation “Meet, or Not” creates a wide range of mysterious fantasy worlds and optical illusions. This aims at captivating the beholder in order to convey the main message of the animation: despite all the challenges that humans have to face and master in their lives, they still make great efforts to bravely chase their dreams.

Design enthusiasts who visit the Red Dot Design Area Taipei can look forward to impressive communication design benchmarks from all around the world. In addition, the exhibition will also show what the Red Dot Award: Communication Design is all about.
